Inspired by the Seaside
This range of work was inspired by many happy hours of
beachcombing and coastal walks, and is intended to reflect the joy of being at the seaside. They are all hand built using slabs of superwhite stoneware clay, impressed with textures, including shells, and coloured with oxides and underglazes. The glass on top of some of the pieces was found washed up on Seaham beach, County Durham. The glaze is intended to mimic the effect of flotsam found on the shoreline, which have been washed by the waves, and bleached by salt and sun. |
